thE PEACE POLE PROJECT
The planting of Peace Poles was started in Japan as a grassroots project in 1976. They are an internationally recognised symbol for peace and it is estimated that there are now over 200,000 Peace Poles across the globe.
Our Peace Poles are handmade by our small team at Allanton Peace Sanctuary in Scotland and shipped around the world.

In the UK you do not need planning permission but you do need consent from the landowner.
What are they made from?
Our Peace Poles are made from up to 80% recycled uPVC plastic - from windows.
They are low maintenance and weather/UV resistant.
Why are they not wood?
At Allanton we believe in minimising our impact on the Environment and reducing landfill. Therefore we have decided to manufacture our Peace Poles from recycled materials.
Recycled plastic has the added benefit of being lighter to ship - therefore reducing the amount of CO2 emitted during delivery.
How long will it take to arrive?
All of our poles are made to order by our team at Allanton House in Scotland - therefore, please allow up to 6 weeks from completing your purchase. Usually they arrive within 28 days. Please let us know if you have a planting date in mind.
Can you send them abroad?
Yes! We have sent poles to Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Please get in touch to discuss the details or order online.
how much is postage and packaging?
Postage and packaging per pole to the UK Mainland is £35, Europe £45 and Worldwide £65.
We have sent many Peace Poles around the world and believe we have found the right balance between size, packaging and cost to make sure they arrive to you in one piece. The box is approx 250cm to accommodate the pole, it is therefore quite a large parcel. If you would prefer to arrange your own delivery then please get in touch.
