Signatories represent diverse fields (science, politics, business and the arts), and realise that current ideas and thinking, which pursue material gain, have set humanity on an unsustainable trajectory. There is scientific and religious agreement that all living beings are an intrinsic part of life on earth. We are all connected and must foster a culture of oneness in order to sustain life.

The Declaration builds upon the belief that the human spirit and consciousness is connected to the universal source, our divine spark, with capacity for infinite love, wisdom and ability. As a cognitive species we have the knowledge and understanding to make choices. We can choose our thoughts, the words we speak, and our actions. Through our choices we can become better people (our highest self), individually, and together as humankind. Now and in the future, every incremental change that we make, through our everyday choices, determines not only the state of the world today, but also how humankind shall evolve. A Conscious Evolution means we decide, now, our species’ future and the fate of our Earth. In order to serve humanity and life on the planet, we can choose to live consciously and responsibly.

The Declaration’s multidisciplinary foundation reflects the need to respect all humankind. We can only create harmony through diversity. Life benefits from variety, but we must work beyond personal, cultural, national and disciplinarian interests to the benefit of all. The declaration states that it is time for a material, spiritual and cultural evolution in order to shift the destiny of humankind. To provide dignity and wellbeing for all, in a more harmonious, compassionate and sustainable existence
