Allanton Peace Sanctuary, near Dumfries in South West Scotland, is the European home of May Peace Prevail On Earth International (formerly known as the World Peace Prayer Society). The Society was founded in 1955 by the Japanese teacher, philosopher and poet Masahisa Goi (1916-1980), who dedicated his life to peace and humanity.

Following the devastation of the Second World War, Mr Goi looked for a way to bring peace to all people, and the prayer and affirmation May Peace Prevail On Earth came to him in a moment of great inspiration. He realised that these words express the common wish of all humanity, transcending all boundaries of race, religion and politics. He envisioned that their gentle, yet powerful, effect would activate global peace consciousness.
MPPOE Int’s membership has spread worldwide, and includes people from many diverse backgrounds who all believe that inner and global peace are priorities of our times. Peace Representatives are active members around the world. They volunteer to promote the activities of the MPPOE Int’s in their local communities according to the customs and culture of the region.
As well as our beautiful Scottish location, there are international headquarters in Tokyo, upstate New York, San Francisco and Munich.

May Peace Prevail On Earth International is a grassroots, global movement to inspire, and re-awaken the inherent consciousness of love, peace and harmony which exists in every one of us.

The power of the affirmation May Peace Prevail On Earth lies in its capacity to bring together people of various cultures, faith traditions and political ideals as a united global heart and mind. The Message allows us to sincerely focus on our mutual desire to serve, create and manifest true peace on earth while transcending our differences and celebrating our common humanity.
Awaken
In the original Japanese version of May Peace Prevail On Earth, the character for “Earth” includes not only humankind but “Life in all Realms of Creation”. When we speak the words, May Peace Prevail on Earth we can imagine that the frequency and energy field of Love, Peace and Harmony reaches the kingdom of plants animals and all of Creation including our solar system and the Universe at large.
Our Chairperson
Mrs Masami Saionji, born in Tokyo, Japan, is a descendant of the Royal Ryukyu family of Okinawa. In her teens, she met the founder, Masahisa Goi, became a devout student of his philosophies and was soon adopted by him as his daughter and successor.

After the death of Mr Goi, Mrs Saionji became chairperson of May Peace Prevail On Earth International in 1983. She is highly respected as a spiritual leader and teacher throughout the world. She and her husband, Hiroo Saionji, president of May Peace Prevail On Earth International, and their three daughters live in Tokyo, Japan.
We are part of a peace organisation network, the Goi Group, which includes the Goi Peace Foundation in Japan. The Goi Peace Foundation is an all inclusive, not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and has official relations with UNESCO.
