Host A Retreat With Us
an invitation to create something meaningful together . . .
At Allanton Peace Sanctuary, we love welcoming people, practitioners and organisations whose work resonates with the purpose and spirit of the Sanctuary.
Allanton is first and foremost a Peace Sanctuary, rather than simply a venue for hire.
We open the house and grounds to retreats, gatherings, events and collaborations that contribute - in their own way - to peace, wellbeing, reflection, compassion, connection, community building, creativity and care for one another, and the more-than-human world around us.
You don’t need to follow a particular faith, spiritual practice or philosophy to spend time here. What matters is the intention behind what you are creating, the values that guide it, and the way in which you hold and care for the people taking part.
Please click on the sections below to get a better understanding of whether you will align with Allanton’s ethos, What We Welcome, and how we go about Finding The Right Fit . . .
-
We particularly welcome collaborations on retreats, gatherings, events, activities and experiences that create opportunities to:
slow down, restore and reconnect
cultivate peace, presence and reflection
deepen our relationship with ourselves, one another and the natural world
nurture compassion, kindness and community
encourage creativity, dialogue and learning
respect human dignity, diversity and difference
support more conscious and sustainable ways of living
connect people with place, and the natural world around us
-
All our collaborations begin with a conversation.
We’ll ask you to tell us a little about who you are, what you hope to create, who the retreat is for, and how your approach connects with the values and ethos of Allanton.
This isn’t about everyone thinking or practicing in the same way. Diversity of thought, culture, tradition and practice is welcomed here. What matters is a shared commitment to creating something that is respectful, inclusive, compassionate and compatible with Allanton’s wider purpose of cultivating peace.
Protecting the spirit, purpose and atmosphere of Allanton matters deeply to us. For that reason, not every proposed use of the Sanctuary will necessarily be the right fit.
If this feels aligned with what you are hoping to create, we would love to begin a conversation with you, click on the retreat enquiry button below. . .
residencies & RESIDENTIAL RETREATS
Allanton Peace Sanctuary is intentionally an intimate retreat space, allowing us to welcome a maximum of 12 people at any one time.
Accommodation is provided in our beautiful Japondi styled twin rooms, with shared bathroom and shower facilities.
We have worked sympathetically with the original architecture of Allanton, which has helped us to retain the quiet, spacious and peaceful character of the sanctuary, whilst respecting the heritage of the house.
Time at Allanton is intended to be a gentle communal living experience rather than a conventional B&B or hotel stay. We invite guests to share the sanctuary with care and consideration - respecting shared spaces, connecting with others where it feels natural, spending time in nature, and helping us maintain a simple Leave No Trace approach.
It is an invitation to live a little more consciously and collectively for a while, whilst still retaining plenty of space for quiet, presence and reflection.
